Launching

“If you wait until you feel “ready” it will never get done” -#Truth

Launching anything is no walk in the park, however, once you have decided to follow your dreams, it’s a long marathon to success – but all worth it in the end.

For the past year, I have been working on the crazy idea of starting “thetravelproject.ca”. You see, I have always considered myself to be extremely fortunate to have a job that I absolutely adore, that allows me to travel the world as well as, provides me with the opportunity to meet a plethora of many amazing humans. Naturally,  the more I traveled the more people I would meet- people with incredible stories, wise words, and wild adventures! Unfortunately, I have kept most of my travel experiences, stories and meetings to myself, however, I quickly realized that I had a responsibility to share my stories with the world.   I wanted to start sharing my adventures and stories on a bigger platform – I wanted to share my spark, love for travel and the inspiration I feel on a daily basis with all of you.

It has been the meetings in the middle of the Maasai Mara, the deserts of India,  the streets of Beijing and in my own home country of Canada, where I have met the most incredible people. Traveling is a privilege, therefore I wanted to create a platform to honour the stories and humans I have met along the way.

For the past few months, I have been researching, writing, learning to code, watching YouTube videos, working with graphic designers, downloading and learning Lightroom, participating in photo shoots and interviewing people from around the world – in hopes of creating and launching this blog. The idea of officially launching it to the world scares me because, this project has been my baby – my blood, sweat, and tears and is my tunnel for BIGGER projects which are soon to come – You will have to keep reading my blogs to find out more!

Like mentioned above, launching anything for the first time is hard! I remember launching my kite for the first time when learning to kitesurf – I was literally dragged across the sandy beach, with an audience of people watching my free show. To anyone who was there and saw the whole situation unravel, you’re welcome for the show! When the embarrassment of the situation finally died down, and my ego was set back into place,  I saw my “failed” launching attempt from a different vantage point. I had just learned a handful of valuable lessons which actually made me a better “kite launcher”- not to mention I received a free spa exfoliant treatment from being dragged across the sand! To be quite frank, my fear of launching still remained, however, I had much more knowledge, experience and practice moving forward in the sport than I had before.

This situation is my inspiration for finally launching my website. I will make mistakes along the way, however, I will learn and become a better blogger and entrepreneur because of them.

Life is too beautiful to only live it in your head!
